Privacy Policy
Draft for legal review · Updated 19 October 2026. This text has not been reviewed or approved by a lawyer.
1. Our Commitment
VoiceFund respects the privacy of its users. This policy explains the categories of information the platform may process, why it is needed and how users can raise privacy concerns.
2. Information We May Process
Depending on the features used, VoiceFund may process:
- Account details such as name, email address and account identifiers.
- Artist profile information, biographies, profile photographs and uploaded content.
- Contest registrations and submissions.
- Support, campaign and transaction records, including payment references and verification details. Guest checkout collects an email and an optional name and message.
- VoiceCoin balances and transaction histories.
- Messages or information users voluntarily submit through platform features.
- Technical and security information necessary to operate and protect the service.
Card details are entered on Paystack’s checkout, not on VoiceFund. VoiceFund stores payment references, amounts, fees and verification status.
3. Why Information Is Processed
- Create and maintain user accounts.
- Display artist profiles and content selected for public visibility.
- Process and verify transactions.
- Operate contests and fundraising campaigns.
- Prevent fraud and unauthorized access.
- Provide customer support.
- Maintain platform security and reliability.
- Meet applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Public and Private Information
Information that users choose to publish on public artist profiles may be visible to visitors. Artist contact email is hidden publicly when “Show email” is off. Anonymous support hides your name in public support displays but not from the payment records VoiceFund and Paystack need.
Private account information, financial records, authentication credentials and other restricted data should only be accessible to authorized parties for legitimate purposes. Users should review their profile information before publishing it. VoiceFund must not expose private user information through public announcements, public profiles or another user’s account.
5. Sharing Information
VoiceFund processes or shares relevant information with service providers needed to operate the platform — including Supabase (authentication, database and storage), website hosting, and Paystack (payments) — subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.
Information may also be disclosed where legally required or where necessary to investigate fraud, protect users or enforce lawful platform rules.
6. Data Security
VoiceFund uses technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to its operations. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their passwords and authentication codes and report suspected account compromise promptly.
7. Data Retention
Information should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legitimate operational requirements and applicable legal obligations. Some financial, security and dispute records may need to be retained for longer periods where justified.
8. User Rights and Privacy Requests
Users may contact VoiceFund to ask about their personal information or to request access, correction, deletion or other action where applicable law provides such rights. Requests may require reasonable verification of identity. Some information may need to be retained where legally required or necessary for legitimate recordkeeping.
9. Children
A minimum age for using VoiceFund has not yet been set. The platform’s age and consent requirements will be stated here after legal review. Concerns involving a child’s information can be raised through the contact details below.
